Automatic 2D Rebar Labeling [Technology Preview]

Autolabel is a feature which creates 2D Rebar labels automatically when new drawing is created. 2D Rebar label format, location and leader style are set in Defaultlabels.dgnlib file. You can specify the format, location and style of labels, delimiter and 2D bars in dgnlib file so that it can be used in output drawings.

Main bar, Long bar, and Range bar labels are now automatically created when a drawing model is created for the first time.

The label type and placeholders format is taken from the Default label dgnlib file.

If the DefaultLabel.dgnlib file is modified after a drawing model is created, then to reflect the changes in existing drawing model, you must reopen the dgn and use Rebar attributes > Update.

A DefaultLabel.dgnlib file is delivered for each workspace in the Standards folder at location shown below.

Enabling the Feature

Autolabel feature is not enabled by default. To enable this feature follow these instructions.

Note: The Autolabel feature is enabled by default if the Technology Preview feature "AutoLabels for 2D Rebar Drawings" option is toggled ON during the installation.

This feature uses the DefaultLabel.dgnlib file delivered with OpenBridge Modeler. If a user-defined dgnlib needs to be used, open the Configuration dialog, find the REBAR_AUTOLABEL_LIB variable and enter the path for the user-defined dgnlib file for its value.

Dgnlib format Rules based on item type : Dgnlib consists of different concrete elements with reinforcement. Concrete elements are marked with unique item type values based on pick-list.Item types can be used to store information about elements in the form of properties. You need to rename the item type library name and then item type name in the dgnlib as desired and then restart the software to get the newly added dgnlib on default. Similar item types need to be attached in output dgn to get an accurate output as specified in dgnlib file.

Note: If item types are not attached in dgn, then program dgn searches for best suited labels from dgnlib and place them for given concrete element.

Supported 2D Rebar attributes from AutoLabel DGN Lib to Output DGN

If the main bar is shown full size and filled in Autolabel dgn lib, then in output.dgn file main bar is also shown as full sized and filled. This is applicable for all the settings mentioned below.
