Anchor Bolt Styles - Plate A. Bolts tab

Used to specify parameters for plate anchor bolts.

Note: Ignore the Thread length parameter (the 0:4 1/2 dimension in above illustration). It is not currently used by OpenBridge Modeler.
SettingDescription
Top Zone The check boxes enable the Top Zone optional accessories, such as nut and washers in the top zone (above the anchored surface). The […] buttons are used to open database files where the respective record index is picked from the nut/washer dialog. For washers between the nuts, the pull-down option can be set to include 1, 2, or no washers.
Middle Zone The check boxes enable the Middle Zone optional accessories which are picked from the bolt database (accessories on the middle zone plate or sleeve components). The […] buttons are used to open bolt database files where the respective record index is picked from the nut/plate dialog.
Bottom Zone accessories The check boxes enable the Bottom Zone optional accessories which are picked from the bolt database (accessories on the bottom zone plate component).
Pl Thk Sets the plate thickness.
Grout Thk Sets the grout thickness.
Anchor bolt diameter (Required) - Sets the anchor bolt diameter. Use […] to select a database value for the hook anchor bolt diameter (recommended).
Select Component Sets the lower zones component type for the anchor bolt.
  • for Middle Zone
    • Plate – Enables middle zone accessories be set to nuts and plate.
    • Sleeve – Enables middle zone accessory be set to a sleeve.
    • None – The middle zone set a plain bolt segment.
  • for Bottom Zone
    • Plate – Enables bottom zone accessories be set to nuts and plate.
    • None – The bottom zone set a plain bolt segment
Note: For the Plate component, for both in the Middle zone and in the Bottom zone, the plate between the nuts provides a pull-down option for setting plate sharing methods be configured to either Single, X-Direction, Y-Direction or Complete.
Bolt Styles dimensions The following dimensions are labeled by dimension lines on the diagram:
  • Thread length - sets the length for anchor bolt treads for Upper / Lower segment.
  • Extrusion length - sets the anchor bolt extension in Upper zone.
  • Embedment length - sets the anchor bolt depth for Upper / Middle / Lower arm, less extrusion length.
Name Used to enter/select a name for the anchor bolt style. Names you enter are saved to the drop down list provided.
Tip: Use the and dialog controls to load or save a style.
Workloose Sets the hole tolerance.
Part list Entry When on, the part is taken in the BOM/partlist.
Material/Grade Sets the material grade taken from the material file.
Item Number A user-defined value for an item number is set here.
Partlist Name Sets the name formatting using naming variables for BOM/partlists.
Export Name Sets the name formatting using naming variables for exports/transfers.
Placement Pattern The fields vary depending upon the Arrange Type is set.
  • Arrange Type – Select the general arrangement method for the pattern, either
    • Rectangular or
    • Polar
The placement pattern parameters change accordingly.
Rectangular Arrange Type Two sets of values to describe the parametric patterns along two axis. Both X Direction and Y Direction have the same parameters.
Note: To create a linear pattern, leave the the Pattern field for the Y Direction blank.
  • Pattern – Type a integer number of bolts times (with an asterisk, "*") the distance between bolts. Different spacings can be used by separating with a comma. For example, 2*3,6,3*2 will two bolts at 3 minor units apart, skip 6 minor units, and then place three bolts at 2 minor units apart.
  • Rot angle – Rotation angle sets the axial rotation of the anchor bolt.
Note: This is primarily useful for book or bent anchor bolts, dowels, and studs.
  • Orientation – The orientation values in the drop-down list control depend on the arrangement type selected.
    • XSOUT/YSIN
    • XSOUT/YSOUT
    • YSOUT/XSIN
    • YSIN/XSIN
  • Diagonal – (Rectangular arrangement only) When on, the four outermost corner anchor bolts are rotated at 45° off of the X or Y axis of the pattern.
  • Pattern Justification – (Rectangular arrangement only) This control is used to select the point from which the pattern is arranged. Which ever of the nine points is selected is used as the insertion point and the rectangular arrangement is arrayed outward from this point.
Polar Arrange Type A set of values to describe a semi-circular or circular pattern of anchors.
  • Count – Number of anchor bolts along this direction of the pattern (i.e., number of rows or columns)
Tip: To create a linear arrangement of anchors, leave the Y Direction Count field blank.
  • Radius – Sets the radius of the Anchor bolt circle.
  • Start angle – Defines the angle at which the first anchor bolt is created.
  • Included – The angle subtended between the first and the last anchor bolt created.
  • Orientation – The orientation values in the drop-down list control depend on the arrangement type selected.
    • In – all anchor bolts are rotated with legs towards the center of the anchor bolt arc segment or circle
    • Out – all anchor bolts are rotated with legs away from the center of the anchor bolt arc segment or circle
