Creating a Single Brace

To use this Substation Gallery tool to create a connection, follow this procedure.

Supporting shapes for a Substation Gallery object are limited to pipes and square, rectangular, or circular hollow shapes.

Connecting shapes should be at an offset distance (equal to the plate thickness) from the center of the supporting shape. The plate thickness cannot be specified in the dialog; it is only displayed for reference.

Select from the Substation Gallery.
The Single Brace A dialog opens.
Do the following in sequence:
1. Select the connecting shapes (e.g., brace members).
2. Select the supporting shape (e.g., truss chord).
Either:

Specify the connection parameters.

or
Load a Template.
(Optional) If you loaded a template, you may modify the parameters as necessary.
Click OK.
