Maintaining the Database

A User Part Center database can be created:

Automatically - the application prompts you to create a database when you first start the program or when you make changes to the User Part Center directory structure.
Manually - to "start over" and replace an existing database, you can select the Create New Database option at any time you like.

Additionally, you can update your existing database based on changes in the User Part Center directory on your hard drive.

Automatically Create Database

When you first start the application, or when you make changes to the User Part Center directory structure, you may not have an existing database. In this case, a blank database is always created.

The application prompts you to search in the cell directory for DGN's and to load them into the database. This allows you to use User Part Center to manage any older, existing cells.

Note: If you answer No to the search prompt, User Part Center is used to manage only the new cells you create, even if other DGNs exist in the cell directories.
