To create a new project

To start a new OpenBridge Modeler project, use the following procedure.

Note: If you have any files open in OpenBridge Modeler, be sure to save them before creating a new project. Only one project may be open at a time.
  1. Either:
    If… Do this…
    You currently have a file open in OpenBridge Modeler Select File > New in ribbon.

    or

    Press <Ctrl+N>.
    You have no files open Select the New File tool () on the Work Page.
    The New dialog opens.
  2. Select a folder where the project will be saved.
  3. Type the File name.
  4. Select the Seed file:
    1. Click Browse. The Select Seed File dialog opens.
    2. Navigate to and select the appropriate seed file.

      The seed files installed with the product in C:\ProgramData\Bentley\OpenBridgeModeler CONNECT Edition\WorkSpace\System\seed\ are recommended to be used. If you want to create custom seed files for your organization, these may be used as a basis.

    3. Click Open.
  5. Click Save.
The new project file is created and opened in OpenBridge Modeler.
Tip: If you created the new file from the File Open dialog, then you must select it and click Open in that dialog.
