To add a bridge with multiple units

To place a bridge with multiple units quickly in a single command, use the following procedure.

You must have at least one bridge in your current model.
Note: An OpenBridge Modeler project can contain multiple bridges and each bridge can have multiple units.
  1. Either:

    on the Home ribbon tab, select the Add Multi-Units tool in the Bridge Setup group

    or

    key in bmgeom bridge addmultiunit

  2. Fill in the bridge details:
    1. Data point on a bridge alignment.
    2. Data point or type a start station.
    3. Type the bridge prefix and data point to accept.
    The Create Bridge Units dialog opens.
  3. Add a bridge unit:
    1. Click the Add button (). A row is added to the bridge units table.
    1. Type the Unit Name.
    2. Select the Unit Type from the drop down list.
    3. Type the Support Line Length.
    4. Type the Skew Angle.
    5. Type the Span Lengths.
      Tip: Use a comma seperated list or use the N@ to include multiple subsequent spans of the same length.
  4. Repeat step 3 to add more bridge units as needed. You can use the tools at the bottom of the dialog to remove or reorder existing bridge units you have added.
  5. Click OK
The bridge units are added to the active bridge. The unit details can be seen in the Project Explorer dialog on the Bridge Data tab.
Tip: The bridge unit is not graphically represented without pierlines.
