Girder Position

Often times, girders must be inserted between two main girders. Rather than inserting individual girders manually and copying them, you can insert subordinate girders at main girders using the girder position option.

Multiple Subordinate Girders

When is selected from the Shapes dialog, you are prompted to select the first main girder at the start point of the layout. It is important to select the correct end because the layout starts at the selected end.

After selection of the second girder another dialog opens where you can define the distribution.
You can specify individual distances or series of equal values. (number*distance). A comma separates the individual data.
The subordinate girders are inserted aligned to the upper edge of the main girders.
Note: the position setting in the dialog for shape insertion doesn’t matter
Depending on the Shape dialog setting, they are immediately coped as well.

If Connect AEC-lines’ is on, the static effect lines are automatically linked with those of the main girders. This saves you some work during transfer to a static program.

Tip: Hold <ALT> while calling the function to insert a subordinate girder along a line. It will be appropriately inserted between the main girders.

Individual Subordinate Girders

You can also insert an individual subordinate girder, to create a diagonal. When is selected from the Shapes dialog, you are prompted to select two main girders at the corresponding end in question. Then, the following dialog opens:

Here, you define the desired distances to the corresponding shape ends; a line displays the position of the shape.
