Angle Splice Connection - Dimension tab

SettingDescription
Gap Sets the distance between the two selected shapes. A negative value is not permitted.
Shim Clearance Sets clearance for the shim. Shims do not appear in the drawing.
Inside / Outside Determines the placement of the connector or overlap
Shift Split Point Causes the split point to shift by the specified value.
Group When checked, the entire connection, including the connecting shape, is assigned to a construction group. If the shape is already part of another component group, the connection will be assigned to the same group.
With Bolts When checked, the bolts are also added to that group.
Overlap When checked, the spliced shapes are overlapped to form the connection. Enables Overlap settings When unchecked, uses a connector.
  • Offset Other – When checked, offsets the 1st shape. When unchecked, offsets the 2nd.
  • Lap a/ Lap b/ Lap Equal – Determines overlapping shape(s) overlap relative to the split point.
Bolts
  • Bolt Type – Sets bolt type selected from drop-down list.
  • Dia./ Workllose – Sets the diameter of the bolt, and in second field sets the hole tolerance.
  • Additional Length – Sets the length of the bolt beyond the nut.
  • Turn – When checked, the bolt direction is inverted.
  • Weld – When checked, the respective shapes are welded.
Connector
  • Shape Type – Sets the shape type to be used for the Angle Connector.
  • Shape Size – Sets the shape type to be used for the Angle Connector.
  • Inverse Leg – When checked, the X-Y legs of the Angle Shape are inverted. Only applicable with Uneven Angles.
    • Get Defaults – Causes default values to be retrieved from the OpenBridge Modeler Database according to the currently selected Shape Type and Size. Only applicable when Overlap is not checked.
Transverse Spacing Sets vertical spacings for both X and Y legs.
  • Number – Sets the number of bolts to be placed on the Y axis.
  • Edge Distance (g1) – Sets the distance from the edge of the shape to the center of the first bolt.
  • Distance Btw. (g2) – Sets the distance between the center of the bolts.
  • Inverse Stagger – When checked, the stagger is inverted. Only applicable where staggered bolts are used.
Longitudinal Spacing Sets horizontal spacings.
  • Number / Slot Length – Sets the number of bolts to be placed on the X axis, and in second field sets the slot length.
  • Edge Distance Outside (w1) – Sets the distance from the start of the shape to the center of the first bolt.
  • Edge Distance Inside (w2) – Sets the distance from the end of the shape to the center of the last bolt.
  • Distance Btw. (w3) – Sets the distance between the center of the bolts.
  • Offset Value – Sets the offset distance for staggered bolts.
