User-defined Sorting

One important strength of the User Part Center is the User-defined sorting according to any user-defined criteria. You can define your own database fields and fill them out later with data from the corresponding cell.

In the User Part Center Settings, you can specify a hierarchy according to the cells which are to be displayed with a user-defined sorting. For instance:

Created database fields for the shape, for the whole pattern and for the shear protection to classify predefined root points, and then indicate exactly the fields in this order as sorting.

If you switch to user-defined sorting, the tree-structure in the Navigation dialog is as follows:

  • The contents of the field shape is displayed on the top level
  • The contents of the field hole pattern is displayed on the following levels below

And so on....

For each data input, for example, in the field shape (e.g. HEA140 and HEA160) an entry is created on the same level in the tree-structure and cells with identical contents are sorted there (analogous to directories and sub-directories on the hard disk). This helps you search for similar cells from a large number of cells.

To avoid entering differing entries for the same thing, all data existing for this field is displayed in a list at data input. Assignments can be made, too. This helps you to avoid entering for instance, HEA140 for a previously entered HE140A.
