Purlin Connection - Purlin Shape tab

Used to define purlin shape, set dimensions to shape as well as the drill holes of the connection.
SettingDescription
Holes
  • Shape Length - Sets the length of the shape in shape direction of the purlin course.
  • Number - Sets the number of drill holes in shape direction of the purlin course.
  • W3 - Sets the axis distance in the case of two or more drill holes.
  • Bottom Offset - Sets the distance of the roof girder holes to the outer edge of the purlin course.
  • Height Offset - Sets the distance of the drill holes in the purlin course to the upper edge of the roof girder.
Bolts
  • Bolt Style – Sets the bolt type (e.g. DIN 7990) for the connection, selected from the drop-down list.
  • Dia – Sets the bolt diameter for the connection between roof girder and shape.
  • Dia Side – Sets the bolt diameter for the connection between shape and purlin course.
  • Workloose – Sets the clearance for the connection.
Options
  • Vertical – When checked, the shape is positioned in a perpendicular way in order to insert e.g. a U-shape vertically.
    • Turn – When checked, the shape is rotated by 90° around the longitudinal axis.
  • Group – When checked, the purlin socket and the roof girder are assigned to a construction group. If the roof girder is already belonging to another construction group, the purlin socket will be assigned to this other group.
  • With Bolts – When checked, the bolts are assigned to the roof girder belonging to the construction group as well.
  • Other Side – When checked, the purlin socket is attached at the opposite side of the purlin course.
  • Backer Plates –Sets the dimensions of backer plates in the corresponding input fields -the Width and thickness of filter plate. These plates have to be used between roof girder and purlin socket. If you enter the value 0, no backer plates will be created.
  • Offset – Sets the offset value for the bolted connection in longitudinal direction. This is the offset of the holes to the center of the purlin in the direction of purlin. Positive values, moves the drill holes in shape direction of the purlin course; and negative values moves in opposite direction.
Shape Type Sets the shape to be used for the connection (Standard, User Shape, etc.). Special shapes can be used as well. For selected type, corresponding shape class and shape size are selected from the respective list.
List

Displays the list of available database entries for the current connection.

Select the desired connection by clicking an entry. In the different list fields, the data on which the connection is based are displayed.
