Beam Beam Splice Connection - Dimensions tab

Used to set shape dimensions and the grouping options.

Main
  • Shorten Shape – Sets the length to be cut on the first shape. A positive value determines the length. A negative value will extended the first shape towards the second shape. The default is 0.
  • Overlap Length – Sets the overlap dimension of the joint along the shape direction. A positive value determines the length. A negative value will be read as its absolute value. The default is 50 or 2 depending on the units setting.
Web Cut When checked, enables creating web cut.
  • Cut Radius – Sets the dimension of a poly-cut on the web of the selected shape. A positive value determines the cut radius. A negative value of value will be read as its absolute value. The default is 30 or 1.2 depending on the units setting.

  • Group – When checked, the selected shape, plate and other created objects are arranged to form a group. If the selected shape is already part of an existing group then the created objects are added to that group.

Weld Plate When checked, enables creating weld plate.
  • Create Plates – When checked, creates web plates.
  • Thickness – Sets the weld plate thickness. A positive value determines the thickness. A negative value will be read as its absolute value. The default is 10 or 0.4 depending on the units setting.
  • Length – Sets the weld plate length. A positive value determines the length. A negative value is to be read as its absolute value. A value of zero will make the length match the width of the selected shape. The default value is 0.
  • Width – Sets the dimension (width) of the weld plate along the shape direction. A positive value determines the width. A negative value is to be read as its absolute value and a value of 0 is not permitted. The default is 40 or 1.6 depending on the units settin.
