Dimensioning Points

This dialog page is used to manage the additional dimensioning points and dimensioning references. Further information on work with dimensioning points can be found in the description of the 2D detail style.

SettingDescription
Actual Current dimension point. brings the next dimension point.
From Total dimension points in current part.
Application type Here you determine which dimensioning points you would currently like to process.
  • Dimensioning point – These are individual points that need to be additionally dimensioned.
  • Local reference point – These are individual points that may serve as the basis for other dimensions.
  • Local reference area – These are individual areas (pairs of points) that may serve as the basis for other dimensions that are within this area.
Assignment Here you select in which component views the dimensioning points are to be used.
  • All selection group – When checked, uses the dimension point in all selection groups.
  • As element reference – When checked, uses the dimension point as element reference in groups, assemblies, etc.
  • Selection group 1- 6 – When checked, uses the dimension point only in respective selection group.
Add dimension point If you click on this button you can add a dimensioning point, a reference point or a reference area according to your selection under ‘Apply for’.
Delete dimension point If you click on this button, you can delete an existing dimensioning point or -area.
Edit dimension point If you click on this button, you can change the position of an existing dimensioning point or -area.
Edit properties of dimension point If you click on this button, you can change the characteristics of an existing dimensioning point or -area.
Select Previous / Next Use these arrow buttons to select the previous or next dimensioning point for editing.

If you would like to add a dimensioning or reference point, you will subsequently be asked for the new point, which you must pick in the model. If you wish to change or delete an existing point, select it by clicking on the point.

You define a reference area by picking two points in the model, which describe the start and end of the area.
