Endplates - Galvanization Holes tab

Used to parametrically add drain holes for galvanization fluid to an endplate connection.

SettingDescription
Galvanization holes Sets the location of the galvanization holes to add to the connection:
  • None – No holes are added.
  • Web of the connected beam – Additional holes are drilled in the web of the connected beam of the Endplate connection.
  • Endplate – Additional holes are drilled in the Endplate.
Galvanization hole type (Active for Endplate selection only).

Sets the hole pattern used for Endplate galvaniztion holes.

  • Center hole –Single hole is added to the endplate, at the geometric center of the connected beam.
  • 2 holes – Two holes are added at opposing corners of the endplate.
  • 4 holes – Four holes are added, one in each quadrant of the endplate.
Distance from Flange (Active for Web of Connected Beam only).

Sets the distance from the inside of the connected beam flange to the center of the galvanization holes in the web.

Distance from Endplate (Active for Web of Connected Beam only).

Sets the distance from the endplate along the length of the connected beam to the centerline of the galvanization holes in the web.

X-Distance (Active for 2 holes or 4 holes patterns in Endplates only).

Sets the horizontal spacing (parallel to beam web) of the galvanization holes, centered on the beam web. The default is calculated as the connection beam flange thickness plus two times the hole diameter.

Y-Distance (Active for 2 holes or 4 holes patterns in Endplates only).

Sets the vertical spacing (parallel to beam flanges) of the galvanization holes, centered on mid-depth of the beam. The default value is calculated as the connected beam height minus two times flange thickness minus two times the hole diameter.

Diameter Sets the diameter of the galvanization holes in the end plate or web of the connected beam.
Tip: The standard hole diameter per DIN EN ISO 1461 is 20 mm.
