C1 Baseplate - Connect tab

Used to set hole dimensions and the anchor bolts for the baseplate.
SettingDescription
Hole Dimensions Defines the size, number, position and orientation of the holes in the base plate.
  • Hole Pattern – Sets the hole pattern; the dimensions settings differ.

Rectangular option defines a rectangular pattern of holes in the form of a Hole field.

Polar pattern creates a circular pattern of holes in the base plate around the reference point.

    • Rectangular – Creates optionally two rectangular patterns of holes in the base plate. The rectangular patterns are positioned around the reference point and are defined used Hole Field descriptions.
Hole Fields descriptions are defined by entering Number*Pitch of Holes with an optional intermediate pitch (separated by a comma ',').
      Example: number1*pitch1 [,intermediatepitch1 [,number2*pitch2 ...]]
    • Browse button – Opens Rectangular Hole dialog, where you can define the Horizontal and Vertical Fields.
      • Horizontal Field – Sets hole fields in X-direction. (Format: Number*Distance, Distance, Number*Distance).
      • Vertical Field – Sets hole fields in Y-direction.
      • Hole Column1, 2, .. – Lists the rectangular hole positioning. The value in hole field numbers determines the number of columns.
    • Polar – Creates a circular pattern of holes in the base plate around the reference point.
      • Number – Sets the number of holes that appear in the circular pattern of holes. The default is 4.
      • Pitch Diameter – Sets the pitch circle diameter for the circular pattern of holes. The default is 300 or 12 depending of the units setting.
      • Start Angle – Sets the size of the angle between the first hole and a reference angle which is parallel to the direction of the length of the base plate. A positive value specifies counterclockwise rotation. A negative value specifies clockwise rotation. The default value is 0.
  • Diameter – Sets the diameter of the holes in the base plate. Default is 16 or 0.625 depending on the units setting.
Weld Settings
  • Weld Style – Sets the kind of weld seam to be created in the model. The style name for the welds if a weld has to be effected.
  • Weld Flange Side – When checked, welds the plates to the flange side of the connection shape instead of bolting.
  • Weld Web Side – When checked, welds the plates to the web side of the connection shape.
  • Thickness – Indicates the thickness of the selected style of the weld seams. Can be overwritten to set the thickness different from the style definition.
Bolts Defines the display and name of Anchor Bolts in for the connection.
  • With Anchor Bolts – When checked, displays the tie bolts by symbols and will be available in the parts list. Enables settings to label the anchor bolts.
  • With Tie Bolts Ouside – When checked, includes outer anchor bolts too.
  • Label – Sets a text value describing the anchor bolt. The label will be displayed in the parts list as the name of the item.
  • (Dowel Database Path) – Displays the database file from which the dowel definitions can be taken. The browse icon next is used to set the folder path of dowel database.
  • Use Dowels – When checked, creates dowel elements as volume bodies.
  • In Bolt Partlist – When checked, the dowels are taken over into the bolt part list.
  • No Detailing – When checked, The dowels are not taken over into the Detail Center.
