Place Auxiliary By Path tool

Used to place a series of the same cell objects at regular intervals along a specified path.

Cells can also be selected from the components center. They will first be imported to the local desktop from the cloud and can then be placed into the file.

Once the tool is selected, select a feature which was previously associated with the cell object. Then specify the following:
  1. The frequency of objects (by distance between or total number)
  2. The path selection mode (select a path or alignment)
  3. The start and end stations (you can use the start and end stations of the active bridge by choose them in the tool settings)
  4. Data point in the view window to start, select the path or alignment, and data point to accept settings.

Active Angle Type an angle to rotate the cell object in plan.
X- / Y- / Z- Scale Type scale factors in each of the three axes to stretch the cell in that direction.
Frequency group

Mode Select the method used to determine the number of auxiliary objects placed along the path:
  • Number
  • Distance
  • Both
Number Type the number (integer) of objects to place evenly along the path.
Distance Type the spacing between objects along the path.
Both Type the Number and Distance (i.e. spacing between) of objects to be placed along the path

Path Selection Mode
  • Select Guideline Providers — you will be prompted to select a profile point on the 2D section to use for placement path
  • Select Alignment With Profile — follows the alignment and uses the profile for the elevation
  • Select Alignment Without Profile — follows the alignment but sets the elevation at zero
Start Station Set this option to type a starting station where the placement path will start.
End Station Set this option to type a starting station where the placement path will end.
Horizontal Offset Type the horizontal offset perpendicular to the alignment.
Note: Positive is to the right when looking up station.
Vertical Offset
Elevation From Path When set, the path selection mode is used for the elevation.
Feature group

Feature Definition Select an existing feature definition from the drop-down list to use for object being placed.
Name Prefix Type a prefix value to use for all objects set using this Feature Definition, which are useful in quickly identifying features in a group.
