To place a deck

To place a bridge deck between supportlines, use the following procedure.

You must use an existing deck template. Your model must have at least two supportlines.
  1. Either:
    For… Use the following tool…
    typical slabs On the Home ribbon tab, select the Place Deck tool in the Superstructure group

    or key in bmgeom deck placebetweenpierlines
    cast-in-place box bridges On the Home ribbon tab, select the Place Advanced Deck tool in the Superstructure group

    or key in bmgeom deck placeadvanceddeck
  2. In the Place Deck tool settings dialog, select the deck template to use:
    1. Click […] adjacent to the Template Name setting. The Template Selection dialog opens.
    2. In the Decks list, select template to use.
    3. Click OK.
  3. (Optional) Specify additional settings such as offsets and orientation.
  4. (Optional) In the Place Deck tool settings dialog, clear the Add Constraints check box if no additional placement constraints are required.
  5. In the view window, do the following:
    1. Data point (i.e., click) a supportline as the first deck boundary
    2. Data point a different supportline as the second deck boundary
    3. Data point a third time to accept
    If you checked the Add Constraints option, then the Solid Constraints Definition dialog opens.
  6. (Optional) Specify any necessary point or variable constraints along the deck and then click Apply.
The deck is placed in your project.
