Display Classes and Area Classes
About Display Classes
You can organize OpenBridge Modeler objects from different levels into Display Classes, which are independent of standard levels. Display Classes enable you to select entire object groups and make them visible or hidden to simplify viewing complex models. For example, columns, beams, footings, and slabs could each be assigned to a display class and displayed or hidden as needed.
About Area Classes
Area classes are very similar to display classes. In both, you group one or more elements into a class that can be displayed or hidden as needed to aid in viewing model information. While display classes are used to group similar elements, an area class is better suited to organize the model into construction sections or similar divisions. Area classes can be used as selection and sorting criteria during the detailing process.
Area and display classes are completely independent from one another. In the case of overlapping display/area class functions, the last action will be valid. For example, an object belongs to an area class and a display class. When you hide the corresponding display class, the object is not visible. If you then display the corresponding area class, that object is visible again.
