To place the pier

To place the pier from a custom template on the interior supportline, do the following.

This template is from Tutorial 1 and if you have not previously completed that tutorial, you should create the pier template first.
  1. On the Home tab, select the Place Pier tool in the Substructure group


  2. In the Place Piers tool settings dialog, select the pier template to use:
    1. Click […] adjacent to the Template Name setting. The Template Selection dialog opens.
    2. In the lists of pier types, select the Multi Column > Default > US301 over RR template.
    3. Click Close.
  3. Clear the Elevation Constraints checkbox. Leave all other tool settings as defaults (i.e., not Integral, Horizontal Offset of 0.0, no cap length adjustment).
  4. Select Pier_concrete_piles as the Feature Definition.
  5. In the view window, do the following:
    1. Data point (i.e., click) on supportline 2.
      Tip: You can click a supportline again to remove it from the selection set.
    2. Reset (i.e., right-click) to set the selection set.
    3. Data point again to accept the selection set.
The piers are placed in your project.
