Place Radial Stockpile

Last updated: December 26, 2018

Place Radial Stockpile creates bulk material storage elements which are associated with the terrain model or with existing site pads. Stockpiles are parametric in the creation and modification and are also dynamic during the placement. As stockpiles are associated with the terrain model or site pads accurate volumes and weights are calculated and displayed.

A radial stockpile is a type of stockpile that is laid down by a radial stacker.

Tagging Properties

The Place Radial Flat Top Stockpile dialog allows the naming of the stockpile. By default a name is generated but can be overwritten with any naming convention. Descriptions can also be entered.

Create by: - Start, Sweep, Width

Allows creation of a radial stock pile on the terrain model or on an existing site pad automatically by specifying a center placement point, a start orientation and a sweep direction.

  1. Select Place Radial Stockpile.
  2. Select Start, Sweep, Width from the Stockpile Geometry and Material – Create By property field.
  3. Enter the dimensional parameters in the Radius, Sweep, Width and Height property fields.
  4. Specify a data point on the terrain model or existing site pad to define the center placement point of the stockpile. Using a plan view ensures accurate placement.
  5. Specify the orientation of the start point of the stockpile by dynamically entering a data point.
  6. Specify the direction of sweep by dynamically entering a data point.
  7. Reset to complete.

Create by: - Start, End, Width

Allows creation of a radial stock pile on the terrain model or on an existing site pad automatically by specifying a center placement point, a start orientation, and an end point.

  1. Select Place Radial Stockpile.
  2. Select Start, End, Width from the Stockpile Geometry and Material – Create By property field.
  3. Enter the dimensional parameters in the Radius, Width and Height property fields.
  4. Specify a data point on the terrain model or existing site pad to define the centre placement point of the stockpile. Using a plan view ensures accurate placement.
  5. Specify the start point of the stockpile by dynamically entering a data point.
  6. Specify the end point and direction of sweep by dynamically entering a data point.
  7. Reset to complete.

Radius – Defines the radius from the centre placement point to the mid-line of the stockpile.

Sweep – Defines the angle from the start point to the end point of the stockpile. Set between 0 to 360 degrees. It represents the arc length of the stockpile.

Width – Defines the width of the top of the radial stockpile in meters.

Height – Height of the stockpile in meters from the placement point on the terrain model to the top of the stockpile.

Material – Material of the stockpile. Material selection will allow calculation of the final width at the base where the stockpile intersects with the terrain model or a site pad. Also defines the template used to display the stockpile, i.e. the level on which the stockpile is created.

End Type – Defines the shape of the extremities of the stockpile. Options are round or square.
