[Technology Preview] Reality Modeling Photo Navigation

The Photo Navigation tools provide the ability to use a reality mesh to navigate through photographic images that were used to create the mesh.

These images are described in a "Block Exchange" file that is generated by ContextCapture when a reality mesh is generated. For each image, the Block Exchange file contains photo origin and orientation information, as well as a file path to the image. The Photo Navigation tools provide a method to browse photos in the context of the reality model based on these parameters.

The images are accessed directly over the local network from the file path specified in the Block Exchange file. A future enhancement will support loading an entire image set for a reality model at a Bentley ProjectWise server for remote web access.

The reality mesh should be Geo-referenced in order to use the Photo Navigation tools. Make sure you turn on the Attach and Apply Geographic Coordinate System check box while attaching a reality mesh.

Note: It is recommended that the Locate setting be turned off in the Reality Mesh Attachments dialog for the attachment to avoid inadvertently selecting and dragging the model off its geo-located attachment point.
