To Enable Manipulating Masked Area of a Reference

  1. Place a fence around the area of reference that is to be manipulated.
  2. In the References dialog’s list box, select the desired reference.
  3. Click the Mask Reference icon in the References dialog.

  4. In the Set Reference Clip Mask tool settings window, turn on the Merge Mask Contents check box.
  5. Enter a data point.

    The elements within the clip mask are copied into the master file. A named group is created for the copied elements. You can now manipulate the elements within the clip mask.
