This coordinate system can be defined to allow you to manipulate data without possible loss of precision due to transform to/from lat/long coordinates. For this to function, both master and reference coordinate systems must be Non-earth coordinate systems. This coordinate system has no relationship to lat/long coordinates and hence no transform to coordinate systems is permitted.

Non-earth coordinate systems are used for purposes such as changing:

• units
• false northing
• false easting
• map scale
