Customizing Button Assignments
Once you have mapped your physical buttons in the Button Mappings dialog, you can use the Button Assignments dialog ( ), to assign MicroStation key-ins and to add key combinations to logical buttons, thus creating additional button assignments. The default button assignments can be changed.
For example, you could assign <Alt+Tentative> to send the key-in PLACE FENCE.
- In the Button Assignments dialog, turn on Alt and select Tentative in the list box.
- In the Action text box, type place fence and press the <Enter> key.
- Click Save.
The 3D Data and 3D Tentative "logical" buttons are not mapped to physical buttons in the Button Mappings dialog. You can use the Button Assignments dialog to create your own button assignments for 3D Data and 3D Tentative. The Data, Tentative, and Reset logical buttons are already mapped to physical buttons in the Button Mappings dialog, however, you may want to create additional button assignments for them.
The following table lists the key-ins to use for these logical buttons when you add button assignments for them.
Logical button name | Key-in |
---|---|
Data | BUTTONACTION DATA |
Tentative | BUTTONACTION TENTATIVE |
Reset | BUTTONACTION RESET |
3D Data | BUTTONACTION 3DDATA |
3D Tentative | BUTTONACTION 3DTENTATIVE |
Button assignments are stored in button menus. The dialog's title bar identifies the open button menu. The default button menu is default.btnmenu, which is installed in ..\Default\Data\ folder in MicroStation's program directory.
