Add a Property Definition to the Item Types with common
properties. For example,
Dimensions.

Add a New Property Type that you need to refer to the Property
Definition added to the desired Item Types. For example, Property
Type: Dimensions.

In the newly created Property Type add properties that will be
shared between Item Types. For example, in the property type
Dimensions add the property definitions
Length and
Width.

To assign the new Property Type to the
Property Definition in the Item Types, select
the common Property Definition from the
Type drop-down (For example,
Dimensions). Do this for the common properties
in each Item Type.
The Common Properties
are added to the desired Item Types.
