To Migrate a V8i Configuration

  1. Do one of the following:

    On the Work page, in the WorkSpace drop-down, select Configuration Migration.

    or

    Select File > Settings > Configuration > Configuration Migration .

    The Configuration Assistant opens and displays the V8i WorkSpaces that it detects.
  2. Do one of the following:

    Select the desired WorkSpace from the drop-down list.

    or

    To select a Workspace other than the ones listed, do the following:

    1. Click Browse.
    2. In the Browse for Folder dialog, navigate to the root directory of the WorkSpace folder and click OK.

  3. Click Next.

    In the Select V8i Users section that opens, all the projects that will be migrated are listed and by default Select All Users is enabled.

  4. (Optional) To exclude a project from migration, in the projects list, turn off the respective check box next to the project name.
  5. Click Next. The Select Destination section opens.
  6. (Optional) To change the destination path:
    1. Click Browse.
    2. In the Browse for Folder dialog, navigate to the root directory of the Configuration and click OK.
  7. Click Start Migration.
  8. An alert window displays asking whether you want to update the path of _USTN_CUSTOM_CONFIGURATION to the path defined in the Select Destination field.

    Click Yes to update the configuration variable path.

    or

    Click No, if you don't want to update the configuration variable path.

    The Migration Process section displays the result of migration.

  9. Click Finish.
  10. Restart MicroStation session.

    The converted WorkSpaces and WorkSets are populated in the Work page.

    Note: The newly created Configuration does not make any changes to the existing V8i Configuration.
