To Pattern the Difference Between Elements

Select the Pattern Area tool (
).

Click the Difference icon in the tool settings.
- Choose the cell or pattern to use.
- Select the element from which to subtract.

Select the element to subtract from the element in the preceding step.
The area to be patterned is displayed dynamically.
- (Optional) Use <Ctrl+data point> to select further elements to subtract.
- Enter a data point to pattern the area.
