Break Element

| Break by two points |
Delete part of an element. The first data point defines the
start point of the deletion and the second data point defines the direction and
extent of the deletion.
The key-ins TRIM BREAK BYTWOPOINTS RETAINGEOMETRY and TRIM BREAK BYTWOPOINTS RETAINPOINTS control how the curves are retained when you use the tool for deleting part of curves. The TRIM BREAK BYTWOPOINTS RETAINGEOMETRY key-in retains the curve geometry by adding node points, whereas the TRIM BREAK BYTWOPOINTS RETAINPOINTS key-in retains the node points by modifying the geometry. You need to run the required key-in before activating the Break Element tool. The two key-ins toggle each other; so when one is executed, other is deactivated and vice-versa. By default, TRIM BREAK BYTWOPOINTS RETAINGEOMETRY is active. Note: To delete part
of a multi-line, use the
Multi-line Partial

. To make an opening in a multi-line without dividing the
multi-line into two elements, use the
Cut All Component
Lines tool.
