To Replace One or More Surfaces of a Solid Using an Existing Face

  1. Select the Replace Surface Feature tool.
  2. Turn on Use Existing Face.
  3. Select the solid.
  4. Select the replacement surface (the existing face to which the following faces are to be aligned.)
  5. Select the face to be replaced.
  6. (Optional) Using <ctrl+data point>, select other faces that are to be replaced.
  7. Accept to view the modifications.
  8. Accept to complete the replacement of the faces.


    Left: Select the solid (1), the replacement surface (2) and then use <Ctrl> data points to select multiple faces to replace (3, 4, 5). | Right: Accept to view the modifications (6) and again to accept the replacement of the faces (7).



    Where the replacement surface is curved, the arc is extended to replace the selected surfaces. | Left: Select the solid (1), the replacement surface (2) and then use <Ctrl> data points to select multiple faces to replace (3, 4, 5). | Right: Accept to view the modifications (6) and again to complete (7).



    Where the replacement surface is angled, the slope direction is extended to replace the selected faces. | Left: Select the solid (1), the replacement surface (2) and then use <Ctrl> data points to select multiple faces to replace (3, 4, 5). | Right: Accept to view the modifications (6) and again to complete (7).
