Exporting to SVG Format

MicroStation supports exporting to SVG (Scalable Vector Graphics). SVG is a platform for 2D graphics. It has two parts: an XML-based file format and a programming API for graphical applications. Key features include shapes, text, and embedded raster graphics, with many different painting styles. It supports scripting through languages such as ECMAScript and has comprehensive support for animation.

The Export SVG dialog opens when you select File > Export > Visualization File Types > SVG (*.svg) . It contains settings for selecting the view and for converting text to line or line string elements before converting to SVG. You can also use the key-in SVG EXPORT to open the Export SVG dialog. Clicking Export opens the Export Design File As SVG dialog, which lets you define the destination and file name for the SVG format file (.svg).
