MicroStation CONNECT Edition Help

Directory Structure

The directory structure makes updates easier and reduces the likelihood of overwriting data when reinstalling the product.

By default, the destination directory for MicroStation is C:\Program Files\Bentley.

By default, the Configuration directory that contains the WorkSpaces and WorkSets is installed to C:\ProgramData\Bentley\<product_name> CONNECT Edition .

Directory for User Data

The %LOCALAPPDATA%\Bentley\<product_name>\<product_version>\ directory provides a local storage location for some Bentley product-specific data that is unique to a user. The location of this directory is defined by the variable _USTN_HOMEROOT.

Note: It is highly recommended not to share user files between users or to access them on a network drive. Although multiple users can and will benefit from utilizing the same configuration over a network, %LOCALAPPDATA%\Bentley\<product_name>\<product_version>\ should reside on each local computer or workstation.
