Scalable Mesh File Support

MicroStation supports the Scalable Mesh (.3sm) files. Scalable mesh files are suitable for display, analysis and editing of large 3D meshes in CONNECT generation of Bentley design applications.

You can also texture scalable meshes with a Bing Map. The Geographic Coordinate System (GCS) information is embedded in the file itself.

Note: Scalable mesh with Bing map does not export the Bing Map texture when dropped, exported, or printed as PDF. Also, Bing Map is not supported with a .3sm file from ProjectWise ContextShare.
