Global Positioning System Dialog, Position Tab

Displays the position of the GPS device, calculated from received signals.



SettingDescription
Latitude Displays the latitude of the GPS device.
Longitude Displays the longitude of the GPS device.
Elevation Displays the elevation of the GPS device.
Heading Displays the heading of the GPS device.
Velocity Displays the velocity of the GPS device.
Time Displays the GPS device's current date and time.
Fix Dimension Displays whether the dimension of the fix is 2D or 3D.
Fix Type Displays the fix. The Autonomous option is calculated solely from the GPS navigation satellites; Differential means the fix was calculated using WAAS or a ground-based differential technique; Estimated means the GPS device does not have a fix but is estimating the fix based on some other information; Simulated means the GPS device is simulating GPS signal reception.
Dilution of Precision (DOP) Indicates confidence in the GPS position. Lower numbers indicate a more accurate position.
Horizontal DOP Indicates confidence in the horizontal GPS position.
Vertical DOP Indicates confidence in the vertical GPS position.
X Displays the X coordinate of the GPS device on the geographic coordinate system of the active model.
Y Displays the Y coordinate of the GPS device on the geographic coordinate system of the active model.
Z Displays the Z coordinate of the GPS device on the geographic coordinate system of the active model.
