To Apply a Tangent 3D Constraint

  1. Select the Tangent 3D Constraint tool (Drawing > Constraints > 3D ).

  2. (Optional) Set the Orientation if required.

Tangent constraint is applied between the outer face of the green cylinder and inner face of the yellow ring. Left: Tangent Constraint with Facing Opposite Orientation | Right: Tangent Constraint with Aligned Orientation.

  3. Select a 3D element (solid or surface).

The selected 3D element is highlighted.

  4. Select the face or edge of the 3D element you want to constrain (reset if a face (or entity) is behind another face (or entity) until the desired one is selected).

The selected face or edge is highlighted.

  5. Select another 3D element and then select the desired face or edge of this 3D element.
Note: At least one of the face or edge must be a curve.

A preview of the constrained geometries is shown.

  6. Enter a data point to accept the previewed constraining.
