To Activate a Reference for In-Place Editing from the References Dialog List

Do one of the following:

In the References dialog's list box, right-click the list entry for the reference. Select Activate from the right-click menu.

or

In the References dialog's list box, select the list entry for the reference. In the list entry's Activate Status column, double-click the gray checkmark.
