User Preferences

The following enhancements are made to user preferences.

Preferences for Language Category

A new category for Language preferences is added. It consists of a control for selecting the language.

Preferences for Look and Feel Category

The following settings have been added to the Look and Feel category:

  • Highlight file name - If on (the default), the last opened file will be highlighted in the File Open dialog. Note that this may cause some virus scanners to scan large files.
  • Restore undocked dialogs - If on, non-modal dialogs such as References dialog, Models dialog, and Saved Views dialog if open when the last design session ended, will be opened in the new session also.
The following settings have been removed from the Look and feel Category:
  • Dialog Font and Font settings - MicroStation now honors Windows font and font size.

Preferences for Operation Category

The following setting has been added to the Operation category:
  • Synch Symbology to ByLevel - If on, when you open a different model or view group, the active color, line style, and line weight are set to ByLevel.
The following setting has been removed from the Operation category:
  • Enter into Untitled Design

Preferences for Position Mapping Category

The following settings have been added or updated in the Position Mapping category:

  • Attributes & Primary - Set the keys mapped to the Attributes and Primary ribbon groups. By default, the Attributes group is assigned the key <A> and the Primary group is assigned the key <S>.
  • Tasks & Ribbon - Sets the keys mapped for the tasks and ribbon groups.
  • Menus & Popups - Sets the keys for menus and pop-ups generated for ribbon groups and toolboxes.

The following setting has been removed from the Position Mapping category:

  • View Toolbox Keys

Preferences for Render Category

A new category Render has been added to Preferences dialog. It consists of control settings for rendering which were previously found in Luxology Render Preferences dialog.

Preferences for Ribbon Category

A new category Ribbon has been added to Preferences dialog. It consists of controls that are used to set preferences for the ribbon.

Preferences for Spelling Category

The following settings have been added to the Spelling category:

  • Case differences - Some words in the dictionary are flagged as case-sensitive, such as proper nouns. If this option is turned on, the spell checker ignores all case differences with the dictionary.
  • Repeated words - If the same word is repeated multiple times in a row, this option allows you to report the repeats as spelling errors.
  • Paths, URLs, and e-mail addresses - Ignore a word if it appears to be a file path, URL, or e-mail address.

Preferences for Text Category

The following setting has been added to the Text category:

  • Apply to all text - If on, applies style changes to all text in the Text Editor window. For example, if you type text in the Text Editor, then click the Bold icon, all text becomes bold.

    If off, applies style changes to selected text in the Text Editor window, or to new text. For example, if you type text in the Text Editor, then click the Bold icon, only selected text becomes bold. Any new text will also be bold.

The following settings have been removed from the Text category:
  • Preserve Text Nodes
  • Smallest Text
  • Text Editor Style
  • Missing Fonts

Preferences for View Options Category

The following setting has been removed from the View Options category:
  • Fast Visible Edges
