To Apply a Fixed 3D Constraint

  1. Select the Fixed 3D Constraint tool (Drawing > Constraints > 3D ).

  2. Select a 3D element (solid or surface).
  3. Do one of the following:

Enter a data point to fix the selected element.

Note: Parts are fixed relative to other parts; you can still manipulate the fixed part.

    or

Select the face, edge, axis or vertex of the 3D element you want to constrain (reset if a face (or entity) is behind another face (or entity) until the desired one is selected).

  4. Enter a data point to accept.

    Fixed Element: No manipulation allowed

Fixed Face: Element can translate only on the plane to which it has been fixed by the face; no rotations allowed

Fixed Edge: Element can translate only on the plane parallel to the length of the edge, and can rotate only along the edge itself as the axis

Fixed Vertex: Element can rotate around the fixed vertex in all directions; no translatory manipulation allowed

Left: Fixed 3D Constraint on the central axis of the cylinder | Right: Fixed 3D Constraint on the axis of the applied Fillet feature

Fixed Axis: Element can translate only on the plane parallel to the length of the axis, and can rotate only along the axis itself
