Geometry Maps

Geometry Maps combine Area Patterning and Pattern maps to provide a method for applying patterns to three dimensional surfaces. A Geometry Map is a 2D cell associated with an element’s material and mapped on the surface in the same manner that image files are used for pattern maps.

Geometry Maps may be used in Shaded render mode as well as Visible Edges mode. In Visible Edges mode it will generate accurate vector geometry when visible edge extraction is performed. The Geometry Map location leverages the pattern mapping projection system so that the location and tiling of the geometry map cells can be precisely and conveniently controlled.

Geometry maps can be projected through any of the material mapping models and can be applied to curved geometry.
