To Export STEP Data

Open a 3D file in MicroStation.
Select File > Export > Exchange File Types > Step (*.stp) .
Identify the solid model or assembly to export and then accept it with a data point.
The Export STEP AP203/AP214 File dialog opens.
(Optional) In the Author, Organization, and Approved By fields, fill in the appropriate information.
(Optional) From the dialog, choose File > Export As to specify an export filename.
If you do not perform this step, the filename of the exported STEP file is the same as the DGN file and with the extension ".stp."
(Optional) From the dialog, choose File > Log File to specify a filename for the log file.
If you do not perform this step, the filename of the log file created is the same as the DGN file and with the extension ".log."
(Optional) From the dialog, choose Settings > Export Settings.
The AP203/AP214 Export Settings dialog opens.
(Optional) Modify the settings and then click Done.
To start exporting data, click Export in the Export STEP AP203/AP214 File dialog.
The dialog closes after exporting is completed.
