To Interactively Examine Overlapping Elements

  1. In the Design File Cleanup dialog’s General tab, set Process View to search the desired view.
  2. Select the Overlaps tab.
  3. Set Action to Interactive.
  4. In the Element Types list box, select the elements to be included in the search.
  5. (Optional) To change the flag attributes, adjust the settings in the Overlap Flag Symbology section.
  6. (Optional) Narrow your search by turning on any of the attributes in the Match section.
  7. (Optional) In the Overlap Tolerance field, adjust the default value of 0.0100.
  8. (Optional) Turn on Ignore Duplicates.
  9. Click Apply at the bottom of the dialog.

If any results are found, the Design File Cleanup dialog closes and the Interactive Cleanup dialog opens to walk you through the results, one by one. The number of overlaps found is displayed in the Interactive Cleanup dialog (for example, "Viewing Overlap 3 of 5").

  10. Click Next to review the next overlap, or Back to look at a previous overlap.

Overlaps are flagged and marked by a line crossing the overlapping segments, with a circle on each end of the line.

  11. When you finish reviewing the overlaps found, click Finish.

The Design File Cleanup dialog returns.
