Creating and Modifying Material Palettes

The Material Editor dialog is used to create or modify material palettes, which are stored locally in the active DGN file. You can export material palettes to external ".pal" files.

Sample palette files with a wide selection of materials are supplied with the product. You can use these materials, create your own, or modify an existing material.

As you make adjustments to materials in the Material Editor dialog, all changes are stored locally in the active DGN file.

You can use the drag-and-drop feature to copy or move materials from one or more palettes to another in the tree view.

You can also find material setups, which are available for current dgn file, under the Material Setups entry as sub-nodes in the File tab of the Explorer dialog. To modify and edit their settings, select Properties from the reset pop-up menu of that material setup.

Note: It is a good practice to place any materials that you create in palette files separate from the ones that are delivered. This avoids the chance of them being overwritten with any software updates.
