Locating and Selecting Tools
Only one tool is selected at a given time. The name of the selected tool is shown in the status bar, and the tool is highlighted in the toolbox. The default selected tool is the Element Selection tool.
When locating and selecting a tool, sometimes you may feel more natural to use either the mouse or keyboard exclusively, and other times you may prefer to switch between the two devices.
Using the Tool Index to Locate and Select Tools
Another way to locate and select a tool is by using the Tool Index in help. The Tool Index is a list of all tools in MicroStation with links to the corresponding help topics.
This method can be particularly useful when you are not sure of the name of the tool or the toolbox in which it resides.
