While not as easy to use as AccuDraw, 3D data points and 3D tentative points also can be used to position points at any depth within the view volume. They are not restricted to the Active Depth but, for simplicity, require at least two views to be open, with different z-axis orientations. To place points with this method you first define the x and y values in the current view and then, in a second view, define the depth (z value) for the point.
