In the Parameter Sets dialog, click the New icon.

Select the name value and change it to L-variable.

Select the Length variable and delete the figure, so that <empty> appears in the field.

Repeat this for the Width and Thickness fields.

Click the Save Table icon to save the changes to disk.
Once you have created a parameter set, you can apply it to the feature solid. This is useful for checking the effect on the solid of the values used in the parameter sets. Where a paramter is blank, then that dimension is left as is.
