To Interactively Examine Gaps Between Elements

  1. In the Design File Cleanup dialog’s General tab, set Process View to search the desired view.
  2. Select the Gaps tab.
  3. Set Action to Interactive.
  4. In the Element Types list box, select the elements to be included in the search.
  5. (Optional) To change the flag attributes, adjust the settings in the Gap Flag Symbology section.
  6. (Optional) Narrow your search by turning on any of the attributes in the Match section.
  7. (Optional) In the Gaps Smaller Than field, adjust the default value of 0.1000.
  8. (Optional) In the Gaps Larger Than field, adjust the default value of 0.0010.
  9. (Optional) Turn off Ignore Coincident Ends.
  10. Click Apply at the bottom of the dialog.

If any results are found, the Design File Cleanup dialog closes and the Interactive Cleanup dialog opens to walk you through the results, one by one. The number of gaps found is displayed in the Interactive Cleanup dialog (for example, "Viewing Gap 3 of 5").

  11. Click Next to review the next gap, or Back to look at a previous gap.

Gaps are flagged and marked by a circle inside a hexagon over each element’s endpoint responsible for creating the gap.

  12. When you finish reviewing the gaps found, click Finish.

The Design File Cleanup dialog returns.
