The Standards Checker can optionally produce a report file that records the problems that it encounters. The report is written as an XML file. It contains information about the Standards Checker plug-ins that were applied, the standards that each is checking against, the files that were checked, and details about the problems that were discovered.

To view the XML file in an easily read format, you need an XML style sheet. The MS_STANDARDSCHECKER_STYLESHEET configuration variable specifies the style sheet to use. A default style sheet is provided, but you may want to develop a custom style sheet for your organization.
