Curve by Formula

Opens the Curve by Formula dialog, which is used to place any conceivable planar curve as a B-spline curve or a line string, based on a mathematical formula, from a library of pre-defined curves or by defining a custom formula.

You can access this tool from the following:

  • Ribbon: Drawing > Home > Placement > Create Curves split button
  • Ribbon: Modeling > Curves > Curve Utilities
  • Toolbox: Curve Utilities

Trigonometric, hyperbolic, exponential, logarithmic, and power functions can be used to create sinusoids, spirals, catenaries, involutes, evolutes, and so on. For the creation procedures, see Creating any conceivable curve.
