MicroStation CONNECT Edition Help

Create Camera Attached to Vehicle

Used to place a camera on a vehicle for animating from the vantage point of the vehicle.

You can access this tool from the following:

  • Ribbon: Visualization > Animate > Traffic
  • Toolbox: Traffic

The tool allows you to select any vehicle that is placed using the single lane or multi lane traffic tool. Once you create a script where vehicles are animating, you can use this tool to pick a vehicle that will carry the camera. The camera is placed in front of the vehicle and not actually in the vehicle.

You can place multiple cameras using this tool. However if you have a script that uses a camera at the same point in time, then you will get an Alert window saying the camera entry already exists for the selected time and if you want to overwrite the existing entry. If you select Yes, the existing entry is overwritten, if you select No, a new entry is created but is disabled, and if you select Cancel, the new entry is not created.

If you enable the camera for a vehicle that does not repeat, then at the time when that vehicle is not in the scene, the camera will appear at the location where it was originally created. However it will not be in motion.
