New and Changed in MicroStation CONNECT Edition Update 11
This topic summarizes the new features and enhancements in MicroStation CONNECT Edition Update 11.
MicroStation CONNECT Edition Update 11 implements the new CONNECT Licensing feature which is an improved process of product activation and license management. You will now be able to securely activate your products based on your authenticated sign-in through CONNECTION Client. You only have to sign-in to CONNECTION Client to access MicroStation. You can check your entitlements (products you have access to) in the Bentley Licensing tool accessible from within MicroStation ( ). Here, under Entitlements, you will see a list of products that you are entitled to.
Centralized Management of Proxy Server Settings
The proxy server settings for all features is now managed from Options dialog of the CONNECT Licensing service.
iModel 2.0 Support
You can now publish iModels of version 2.0 from MicroStation.
SketchUp 2018 Support
MicroStation now supports SketchUp 2018 files.
Units Selection Support when Exporting to FBX
You can now select the units for the exported file in the FBX Export Settings dialog.
About Technology Preview Features
[Technology Preview] Associative Extraction of Edges/Faces
You can now extract faces and edges from a parametric solid using the Associative Extraction tool. The extracted faces and edges will maintain association with the parent solid.
[Technology Preview] Item Type Excel Import/Export
You can now export and import Item Type definitions and instances to and from Excel files using the Item Type Import/Export tool.
[Technology Preview] Named Presentations
You can use Named Presentations to represent different symbology for an element in different view orientations. For example, a door can be represented differently in top, front/rear elevation and isometric views.
[Technology Preview] Perforators
You can now use parametric solids to create Perforators. Perforators act as cutting elements on any target element and create a cut in the target element based on their profile.
