Generalised Journey Time Zones
When calculating the Generalised Journey Time for a model, GJT Zones can be useful when the global GJT weightings are not applicable to certain types of Entity experience.
For example, you may need to model Entities waiting in a lift or held outside a station. For these activities and areas within a model, you can place GJT Zones and define activities and weightings. You can apply one weighting value to all activities within a GJT Zone of you can add several different activities and define their weightings individually.
The following procedure assumes that you have drawn and placed a GJT in the relevant part of a model.
To define a GJT Zone:
- Enter a name for the GJT Zone in the 'Name' box.
- Select either All activities (and proceed to step 3) or Selected activities (and proceed to step 5).
- If you want to apply your own defined weighting to every activity within the zone, select All activities and enter a value in the box labelled 'Weighting='.
- If you want to add a congestion factor for all activities, enter a value in the box labelled 'CF'. Proceed to step 11.
-
Click the
Add activity button.
The Add a new GJT Activity dialog is displayed.
- Select an activity from the drop-down list labelled 'Set the activity GJT weight for'.
- Enter a value in the box labelled 'Weighting='.
- If you want to add a congestion factor, enter a value in the box labelled 'CF'.
- Click OK.
- Repeat steps 5 to 9 for any additional activities you'd like to add.
- Set the zone's filters in the standard manner described in "Specifying filter settings" topic in Model Builder help.
- Click OK.
