Creating a Queue Group
Because a Queue Group is a collection of individual Queues, you must first place all the individual Queues and then form a group. The process is very like 'grouping objects' in drawing and graphics applications.
To create a Queue Group:
- Follow the steps in Queues to draw and place the Queues you want to include in your Queue Group.
-
Select each of the Queues you want to group together. If you need
more information, see
Selecting Spatial
Objects .
If you are going to draw the Queue Group manually, click either the rectangular drawing icon or the polygonal drawing icon .
- Click the Queue Group icon .
-
Click within the Queue Group object to place a Focal Point (this
is the point to which Entities targeted to the Group will head for initially).
A suggested polygon, based on your chosen Focal Point, is displayed with a dark green dotted outline. If you want to change the shape of this polygon, move your cursor.
-
To accept a suggested polygon, press
Enter.
To reject a suggested polygon, type n and press Enter. Now manually draw the shape of the Queue Group (to complete a polygon, press Enter).
The Edit Queue Group dialog is displayed.
